As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen international research collaboration, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Azeez Ali, faculty member in the Clinical Pharmacy Department, has contributed as a Co‑Supervisor for Jaafar Masdak Al‑Karmangi, PhD student at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University Sains Malaysia (USM).

The examination committee was composed of professors from Malaysian and Pakistani universities, with the University of Baghdad represented by Dr. Ali Azeez Ali, who has a distinguished research record and an H-index of 15. The committee members praised his scientific role, supervisory efforts, and well-established academic reputation. It is worth noting that the student had a third field supervisor from Iraq, Dr. Manal Mohammed Younis from the Iraqi Ministry of Health. During the study, the student published two research papers.

The thesis defense was conducted via the Zoom platform on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in the presence of the supervisors. The discussion lasted approximately three hours and included clear commendation of the academic level of both the supervisor and the student. The student successfully passed the examination, subject to minor revisions.

This type of international collaboration contributes to enhancing the global standing of the University of Baghdad, opens prospects for broader research partnerships, and enables faculty members to gain valuable experience through engagement with researchers and academics from reputable universities worldwide.
