The Dean of the University of Baghdad College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, met on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, with the directors of the College’s divisions and administrative units. The meeting included representatives from the Media and Government Communication Division, the Continuing Education Unit, the University Psychological Counseling Unit, the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit, the Scientific Affairs Unit, the Volunteer Work Unit, the Human Rights Unit, and the Planning Unit within the Studies and Planning Division, among others. The meeting aimed to enhance coordination and integration in institutional work and to discuss strategies for developing programs and activities in line with the College’s vision to improve the quality of academic and administrative performance.
The meeting addressed several key topics, most notably emphasizing the importance of integrated planning for workshops and training courses, with a focus on diversifying their themes to meet the needs of students and graduates and the requirements of the labor market. This approach contributes to supporting rehabilitation and employment pathways, in addition to strengthening communication skills and building professional capacities.
The meeting also witnessed extensive discussions on activating the role of graduates and involving them in workshops, scientific and cultural activities, and festivals organized by the college, in a way that strengthens their connection to the academic institution and supports sustainable communication with them. In another aspect, the importance of integrating Arab students admitted through the “Study in Iraq” program into the university environment was highlighted, along with introducing them to Iraqi culture and heritage, reflecting the true image of the university, and enhancing cultural exchange and academic openness.
Furthermore, the meeting discussed ways to expand scientific cooperation by hosting lecturers and experts from universities and countries abroad through electronic platforms, particularly by utilizing remote communication technologies. This contributes to the transfer of global expertise and strengthens the international dimension of scientific activities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the dean affirmed the College administration’s commitment to supporting developmental initiatives, working in a spirit of teamwork, and creating a motivating environment for creativity and innovation. This aligns with the college’s mission and objectives in serving students and society and advancing the educational process, while emphasizing continuous support for all constructive ideas and proposals that contribute to the development of work and the improvement of its outcomes.
