Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Volunteer Work Unit at the College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad, in cooperation with Al-Ain Social Care Foundation, organized a charity bazaar whose proceeds were dedicated to supporting orphans and individuals in need. The event was held on Tuesday, 10/2/2026.
The organization of this bazaar coincided with Global Entrepreneurship Week, reflecting an integrated concept of social entrepreneurship by combining humanitarian work with the promotion of initiative, creativity, and innovation among students. This was achieved by transforming students’ ideas and skills into small projects with tangible social impact.
The bazaar featured a variety of distinctive handmade products created by the college’s students, including accessories, candles, artistic paintings, embroidery, crochet works, and other creative items that highlighted the students’ artistic talents and creative capabilities. In addition, the event included several recreational activities that added a joyful atmosphere, such as musical performances, a dedicated photo corner, face painting, and henna hand art.
The bazaar achieved remarkable success in terms of attendance and the funds collected, reflecting the strong awareness of the academic community regarding the importance of humanitarian and entrepreneurial initiatives. The vice deans, heads of departments, and several faculty members were keen to attend the event, support the students, and encourage them to actively participate in this outstanding initiative.
