Under the patronage and in the presence of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Volunteer Work Unit, in cooperation with members of the student volunteer team, organized a visit to Al-Wahda Internal Student Housing located in Bab Al-Moadham on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. The visit aimed to distribute 30 food baskets to students residing in the complex in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan, as part of a volunteer campaign in which several faculty members and staff of the college participated. The visit also included meeting with the housing administration to review the needs of the students, check on their conditions, and distribute the food baskets to students from our college as well as students from other colleges residing in the complex. This initiative comes as part of a series of campaigns organized by the college to support students living in university housing and to help ease the financial burdens associated with the rising cost of living. The students expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude for this initiative, which reflects genuine care for their well-being and living conditions. This humanitarian initiative also aligns with the college’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 2 (Zero Hunger) through contributing to the provision of food assistance for students in need, Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by promoting a supportive living environment, and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through the collaborative efforts of the college administration, the Volunteer Work Unit, and students in implementing impactful community initiatives. Such activities reflect the College of Pharmacy’s commitment to its humanitarian and social role, alongside its academic and educational mission.
