Under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum AlKhateeb, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy-University of Baghdad….The quality assurance and performance evaluation division, held a workshop titled (the vlaue and impact of pharmacy accreditation programs on pharmacy education) that was presented by Prof Fadi Alkhateeb, the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Assessment at South College School of Pharmacy, TN, USA and an expert on in new program evaluation and development and curriculum design and assessment.Educational accreditation is a quality assurance process under which services and operations of educational institutions or programs are evaluated by accreditation bodies according to set of standards. The workshop introduced the concept of accreditation, the types of educational accreditation, and the some of local, Arab and international accreditation bodies. The workshop discussed the basis for evaluating educational programs in general and pharmaceutical education in particular.The workshop aims to develop a culture of quality assurance in education and highlight its impact on the development and prosperity of the educational program.
