Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the University Psychological Counseling Unit, in cooperation with the Volunteer Work Unit and the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Pharmacy / University of Baghdad, organized an extracurricular activity in the form of a cultural awareness festival entitled “A drop of water is life… do not waste it even if you are by a flowing river.” The festival included a variety of activities presented by the college students participated under the guidance of their instructors.
The festival aimed to instill responsible behavior within the university community and to raise awareness about the importance of conserving water as an essential and indispensable resource. It also encouraged individual and collective initiatives that contribute to environmental protection and the sustainability of natural resources.
The festival included a comprehensive awareness campaign, including the presentation of educational posters and brochures, as well as distinguished artistic works that reflected creative ideas and meaningful messages about the importance of water conservation. The event also featured an educational lecture addressing the major challenges related to water scarcity and ways to manage it sustainably.
The festival concluded by emphasizing the importance of promoting a culture of conservation in daily life and enhancing environmental awareness among students while highlighting the vital role of the college administration in supporting and organizing such awareness initiatives, contributing to the development of a conscious and responsible generation toward its environment and resources.
