The University of Baghdad, College of Pharmacy, hosted the first meeting of the Advisory Experts Committee for the Pharmacy Discipline on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, and attended by committee members representing various public and private colleges of pharmacy across Iraqi universities.
The meeting discussed the approved mechanisms for developing and formulating learning outcomes for the pharmacy discipline in line with modern outcome-based education approaches. It also addressed the distribution of tasks among committee members and the establishment of a timeline for completing the assigned responsibilities.
This meeting comes within the framework of the ministry’s strategic vision aimed at advancing higher education and enhancing the quality of academic programs by preparing graduates equipped with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to effectively integrate into the labor market and contribute to sustainable national development, in line with the ministry’s slogan: “Effective Education… Qualified Graduate… Strong Economy.”
The meeting reflects the orientation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research toward developing the higher education system in accordance with national and international standards and in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, which seeks to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, as well as Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, through the preparation of competent professionals capable of competitiveness, productivity, and contributing to sustainable economic development.
