The Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, held a meeting on Wednesday, 10 June 2026, with the College’s Summer Training Committee to continue discussing the mechanisms for implementing and monitoring the summer training program for the College’s students during the current academic year.

The meeting included a discussion on adopting a dedicated electronic application for monitoring summer training activities instead of the traditional field-based follow-up system, which will contribute to enhancing supervision and monitoring processes and ensure accurate and organized documentation of students’ training activities.

The Dean emphasized the importance of this qualitative initiative, as it enables continuous monitoring of students’ completed training hours. In addition, the application incorporates periodic assessments designed not only to evaluate students’ scientific knowledge and academic performance but also to measure their communication skills and commitment to professional ethics. This aligns with the requirements of modern pharmacy practice and enhances students’ readiness for the labor market.

At the conclusion of the meeting, emphasis was placed on the necessity of providing all required technical resources to ensure the successful implementation of the project and the achievement of its intended educational and training objectives.

This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by employing modern technologies to support educational and training processes and improve the efficiency of monitoring students’ progress, which contributes to creating a more effective and inclusive learning environment, while reflecting the University of Baghdad’s commitment to digital transformation and the advancement of academic education and training.
