Prof. Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, chaired a series of meetings with faculty members in the presence of the heads of scientific departments. The meetings focused on discussing key academic and administrative priorities and outlining the strategic framework for the 2026–2027 academic year, with the aim of advancing the educational process and enhancing the quality of academic and research performance. During the meetings, the dean emphasized the importance of monitoring students’ attendance in lectures, continuously updating the content of both theoretical and practical courses, and integrating modern educational technologies and visual learning tools to improve students’ understanding and engagement. He also highlighted the importance of expanding the use of electronic response systems (clickers) across all academic years in daily assessments to enhance evaluation efficiency and align with the latest educational practices. In addition, he stressed the need to develop faculty members’ competencies in the use of modern digital applications and maximize their integration into teaching and scientific research. On the practical side, the dean underscored the importance of strengthening students’ hands-on skills to better meet labor market demands and enhance their professional competencies. The Dean further affirmed the College’s continued commitment to supporting postgraduate programs through equipping laboratories with state-of-the-art instruments, advanced technologies, and research supplies, thereby providing an innovative scientific environment that supports high-quality research and fosters academic excellence and innovation. Regarding scientific research, the dean emphasized the importance of expanding collaboration with universities and academic institutions both within Iraq and internationally while promoting impactful joint research initiatives. He also encouraged faculty members to continue pursuing academic promotions as a means of strengthening the college’s academic and research standing. The outcomes of these meetings are aligned with the college’s vision for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education); SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through strengthening research infrastructure and innovation; and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering academic and research collaborations.
