The College of Pharmacy at the University of Baghdad has achieved a new scientific milestone, adding to its distinguished record of research excellence. Two of its faculty members have been ranked among the top 100 University of Baghdad researchers with the highest number of publications indexed in the Web of Science database. Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Azeez Ali, from the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, ranked 16th across the University of Baghdad, while Professor Dr. Muwaffaq Mohammed Ghareeb ranked 63rd among approximately 5,000 faculty members at the university. The rankings were based on the number of research papers published in prestigious scientific journals indexed in the Clarivate Web of Science database.
This ranking was prepared by Dr. Ammar Ali Abdul-Muhadhir from Al-Qasim Green University and published through the Eduba page on the Research & Publication platform. It features the top 100 most-published researchers at each Iraqi public university, based on Clarivate Web of Science publication data.
This achievement aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting excellence in higher education and scientific research, and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) by supporting innovation, scientific productivity, and publication in internationally indexed peer-reviewed journals, thereby enhancing the academic reputation of the University of Baghdad at both the regional and international levels.
On this occasion, the Deanship of the College of Pharmacy congratulated the two faculty members on this distinguished scientific achievement, reaffirming its commitment to supporting researchers and encouraging publication in internationally recognized scientific databases. Such efforts contribute to strengthening the University of Baghdad’s academic standing both locally and globally. The Deanship also wished them continued success and many more outstanding scientific achievements.
