Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, the University of Baghdad, College of Pharmacy, in cooperation with the Federal Commission of Integrity, held a scientific workshop on Monday, July 20, 2026, entitled “Ethics in Medical and Educational Professions and Their Role in Protecting Service Sectors from Extortion.”
The workshop was attended by Prof. Dr. Munaf Hashim Abdulrazzaq, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Students; Prof. Dr. Shihab Hattab Mutlag, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs; along with a number of faculty members and staff.
The workshop aimed to promote the principles of integrity and transparency while reinforcing ethical standards in the medical and educational professions. It highlighted the importance of fostering an institutional environment grounded in professional responsibility, accountability, and ethical commitment.
This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting professional ethics and values within the academic environment and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by advancing a culture of integrity, transparency, and anti-corruption practices, thereby supporting the development of effective, accountable institutions that serve society.
