The Dean of the University of Baghdad, College of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, hosted today, Sunday, August 23, 2026, Mr. Luay Labib Mirza, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Iraqi Pharmaceutical Industries Company (IPI), during a visit that addressed prospects for joint cooperation between the college and the company. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Munaf Hashim Abdulrazzaq, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Students, and Assistant Prof. Dr. Khalid Kadhem Alkinani, Head of the Pharmaceutics Department.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen partnership and collaboration between the academic sector and the national pharmaceutical industry, as well as several areas of joint work and collaboration that could contribute to supporting pharmaceutical education and advancing the pharmaceutical industry in Iraq.
The meeting also addressed areas of collaboration in supporting the college’s scientific and academic activities, including the 12th Scientific Conference of the College, scheduled to be held next October.
At the conclusion of the visit, both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining communication and expanding areas of joint collaboration in a manner that serves the scientific and pharmaceutical fields and supports the development of the pharmaceutical sector in Iraq, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4: Quality Education; Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure; and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
