The Dean of the University of Baghdad, College of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, hosted on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, a delegation from Sawa Group, headed by Dr. Pharmacist Bashar Neamah, General Manager of the Group, in the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Khalid Al-Kinani, Head of the Pharmaceutics Department, and Lecturer Mais Fadhel Al-Sarraf, Head of the Media and Government Communication Division. The meeting focused on ways to strengthen the scientific and professional partnership between the two sides.
The meeting addressed areas of scientific, research, and training collaboration, enhancing the college’s role in leveraging its academic and research expertise to serve the pharmaceutical sector. It also provides students and researchers with opportunities to gain exposure to and benefit from practical applications, contributing to the development of their skills and the enhancement of the quality of pharmaceutical education.
Both sides emphasized the importance of developing joint programs and initiatives that contribute to advancing scientific research and innovation, responding to the needs of the pharmaceutical sector, serving the academic and pharmaceutical fields, and contributing to the advancement of the pharmaceutical sector in Iraq.
This collaboration comes within the college’s efforts to strengthen its partnerships with pharmaceutical institutions and activate its academic and research role in supporting scientific and professional development, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
