Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Pharmacy/University of Baghdad organized awareness activity on Thursday, September 10, 2026, entitled “Rationalization of Energy and Water Consumption,” aiming to raise awareness of the importance of conserving natural resources ,promoting a culture of rational consumption among the university community.
The activity aimed to promote positive behaviors , raise awareness of water and energy conservation among the college’s students and staff, emphasizing the importance of individual responsibility in protecting the environment and conserving resources. These efforts contribute to reducing waste and costs , supporting sustainable development.
The activity included awareness poster focusing on the importance of conserving energy and water by highlighting basic practices that contribute to sustainable development, conserving natural resources, reducing waste and excessive consumption, emphasizing that the conservation of energy and water is a shared responsibility. It highlighted practical measures for reducing water consumption, such as properly closing faucets, addressing water leaks, avoiding excessive use, reusing water whenever possible, thereby contributing to the conservation of this vital resource.
The activity concluded by emphasizing the importance of promoting positive behaviors , a culture of conservation among students and staff, contributing to environmental protection, resource conservation, reduction of waste and costs, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, Goal 13: Climate Action.
