Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Pharmacy/University of Baghdad organized an awareness activity, entitled “Social, Environmental, and Economic Aspects of Life” on Monday, September 21, 2026.
The activity aimed to promote individual and community responsibility , highlight the role of women and students in supporting initiatives , practices that contribute to sustainable development. It encouraged active participation in environmental protection , resource conservation, while promoting positive behaviors and a culture of sustainability within the university community.
The activity included an awareness poster focusing on the concept of sustainable development across three main areas: the social, environmental, economic dimensions. The poster highlighted the role ,importance of each dimension in building a balanced , sustainable society, integrating community needs, protecting the environment, supporting economic growth. It raised awareness of the importance of achieving a balance between social, environmental, economic aspects , encouraged members of the university community to adopt positive practices that contribute to improving quality of life, conserving environmental resources, supporting sustainable development, thereby contributing to a better future for generations to come.
The activity concluded by emphasizing the importance of balancing social, environmental, economic dimensions , strengthening individual and community responsibility in adopting sustainable practices. These efforts contribute to improving quality of life, protecting the environment, conserving resources, supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 5: Gender Equality, Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, Goal 13: Climate Action.
