The University of Baghdad, College of Pharmacy, hosted on Wednesday, 23 September 2026, a ministerial committee from the Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Safety and Security Division (CBRN) to review the current status of the college’s laboratories and assess their compliance with the approved standards, attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific and Student Affairs, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Hassan Mohammed, along with the Head of the College’s CBRN Committee, Assist. Prof. Dr. Alaa Radhi and the Head of the Laboratory Quality Unit, Lecturer Dr. Shams Awad, in addition to a number of members of the college’s relevant committee, who accompanied the ministerial committee throughout its field visit.
The visit included a field inspection of the college’s laboratories and pharmaceutical warehouse to assess their compliance with the applicable standards, in accordance with the CBRN laboratory assessment form as well as the quality standards adopted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The committee also reviewed the chemical, biological, and radiological safety and security procedures implemented at the college.
The visiting committee commended the efforts of the College of Pharmacy’s Deanship in rehabilitating, developing, and equipping the college’s laboratories, as well as its commitment to safety and security standards. These efforts contribute to providing a safe laboratory environment and enhancing the quality of academic and research activities.
The visit reflects the college’s commitment to implementing quality and safety standards in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, Goal 4: Quality Education, and Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.
