A research paper derived from a Master’s study conducted in the Clinical Pharmacy Branch, College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad, by Pharmacist Zainab Hilal Abdul-Kadhim, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Azeez Ali, with the participation of the second supervisor, Professor Dr. Mohammed Baqer Al-Jubouri from the College of Nursing, University of Baghdad, has been published in the journal Exploratory Research in Clinical and Social Pharmacy, published by the global publisher Elsevier and indexed in the first quartile (Q1) of Scopus.
The study was conducted in nine government hospitals across three Iraqi governorates: Al-Diwaniyah, Najaf Al-Ashraf, and Baghdad. It focused on investigating the importance of professional collaboration between pharmacists and nurses in enhancing medication safety for patients in government hospitals.
The study holds scientific and practical significance as one of the pioneering studies in Iraq to address the nature of interprofessional collaboration between pharmacists and nurses, its role in supporting medication safety practices. It promotes the concept of multidisciplinary healthcare teamwork, contributes to improving the quality of healthcare provided to patients in healthcare institutions.
The publication of this research in a Q1-ranked journal indexed in Scopus reflects the high scientific quality of the study, supports the research output of postgraduate students at the College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad. It contributes to the field of clinical pharmacy and interprofessional healthcare practice
