The University of Baghdad, College of Pharmacy organized a national event on the morning of Sunday, October 4, 2026, in the college’s outdoor courtyard to mark Iraqi Sovereignty Day, in response to the directives of the Prime Minister and in affirmation of the values of national belonging and pride in Iraq and its sovereignty.

The event was led by the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, accompanied by the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Shihab Hattab Mutlag, along with several heads of scientific departments, faculty members, students, and staff. The gathering reflected a strong sense of pride in the Iraqi flag and its national symbolism while embodying the values of belonging and responsibility toward the nation and highlighting the role of the university in fostering these values among its students.

The event also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting the values of citizenship and responsibility among students, and SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, by strengthening awareness of the importance of institutions and the rule of law.
