The University of Baghdad, College of Pharmacy, hosted on Tuesday, 29 September 2026, a specialized ministerial committee from the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, during a field visit to follow up on and support the performance of university psychological counseling units in colleges. The visit was attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific and Student Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Hassan Mohammed, along with the Head of the University Psychological Counseling Unit, Assistant Professor Dr. Lubna Abdalkarim, and a number of unit members. The visit included a comprehensive review of the approved evaluation form for the services and activities of counseling units. The committee also reviewed the awareness programs and counseling plans provided for students and college staff and assessed their compliance with ministerial standards and psychological and educational support programs. The ministerial committee also provided a number of observations and recommendations aimed at supporting the unit’s work and developing its counseling services, thereby strengthening its role in supporting and following up with students throughout their university journey. The visit comes as part of the college’s ongoing efforts to enhance educational and psychological support services and implement approved standards, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).
