The continuing education unit, in collaboration with the quality assurance and performance evaluation division, held a workshop titled (Preparing Scientific Research Proposals) that was presented by Dr. Kawther Khalid Al-Joudi, a faculty member in the department of Pharmaceutics, and hosted Prof Aliasger Salem, a professor of pharmaceutics and vice president of research at the University of Iowa, USA. The workshop aims to empower the research skills of postgraduate students and faculty. Scientific research represents an important component of academic institutions’ output. In the workshop, Dr. Kawther Al-Joudi discussed the ABCs of scientific research proposals and their main components. Then professor Salem walked the audience through one of his research proposals demonstrating, the key elements of a scientific research proposal and the important aspects of the success of the research.
