In a meeting to localize the pharmaceutical industries in Iraq under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani, Associate Professor Dr. Khalid Kadhum Alkinani, Head of the Pharmaceutics Department, participated as a specialist to examine the mechanisms for the localization of the pharmaceutical industry in Iraq on Thursday, August 17, 2023. The meeting brought together representatives of foreign companies specializing in the manufacture of biological drugs, biological analogues (biosimilars), cancer drugs, consultants of the National Health Factory in the Ministry of Health, and others. On the basis of the principle of interdependence of academic and practical expertise, the Prime Minister stressed the need for cooperation in this field and establishing a pharmaceutical industrial city that attracts expertise and competencies. Graduates have shown that investment opportunities for the pharmaceutical industry are now available for all companies to enter this promising sector, stressing the importance of a full transfer of technology from the advanced pharmaceutical industry to Iraq.
