Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Assistant Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Ibn Sina Unit at the College of Pharmacy/University of Baghdad, held an electronic workshop about urgent environmental issues, climate change, environmental pollution, and its health effects, delivered by Senior Chief Engineer Luay Sadiq Al-Mukhtar, Director of the Department of Chemical Control and Evaluation of Contaminated Sites in the Ministry of Environment, and Assistant Professor Dr. Muthanna Saadi Al-Taie in , a faculty member in the pharmaceutical chemistry department. The workshop aimed to deliver two lectures. The first concentrated on climate change as a real challenge to the global environment in general and to the Iraqi environment in particular, and the resulting risks that require appropriate preparation to confront it, while the second lecture involved the most important and dangerous environmental factors affecting community health, based on World Health Organization reports and local reports, and how such risks should be avoided.
