Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and the continuous support of the President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Muneer Al-Saadi, the Division of Media and Public Relations at the College of Pharmacy/University of Baghdad organized events on the occasion of the annual Integrity Week and the International Anti-Corruption Day. The activities took place from December 13 to 14, 2023. The Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb, opened an exhibition of posters and brochures prepared by students under the supervision of a group of faculty members, about the concept, importance, and values of integrity, especially in the work environment. It covered methods to combat various types of corruption, such as bribery, nepotism, abuse of influence, and extortion. Additionally, detailed explanations and thorough descriptions of the Commission of Integrity and its various departments, their tasks, and the main goals the Commission was established to achieve were presented. The activities also launched a workshop on the investigative procedures of the Commission of Integrity in combating corruption and illegal gains. The workshop, conducted by Lecturer Dr. Jinan Abdul Razzaq Fatah, PhD of General Law, and Assistant Lecturer Heba Haider Kazem, covered an introduction to the Commission of Integrity, its formation, objectives, and the powers of the Commission’s president and deputies. The workshop also addressed the departments comprising the Commission and the investigative procedures it employs to probe corruption and illegal gains, starting from reporting a corruption case until the verdict is delivered by the Integrity Investigation Court. Additionally, it covered the procedures for recovering smuggled funds abroad and apprehending suspects, whether inside or outside Iraq.
