Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb, the Continuing Education Unit in the University of Baghdad/College of Pharmacy, held an in-person scientific workshop about the pathophysiology of some emerging autoimmune diseases, delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Ajwad Awad Al-Samidai, a faculty member at the Clinical Laboratory Sciences Department. The workshop included an introduction to autoimmune diseases, international classifications, the mechanisms of their development, the genetic and immune factors contributing to their occurrence, and opportunities for treatment and progress in linking them with their evolution theories. During the workshop, several discussions took place on the workshop’s themes, which contributed to enriching the scientific knowledge of this disease group, which was further exacerbated and its pathological effects on the various organs of the human body increased.
