Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb, the Division of Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation at the University of Baghdad/College of Pharmacy, held an in-person workshop entitled “Time to Change: Curriculum Development” that was presented by our guest Professor Dr. Huda Mahdi Alkhateeb, a former faculty member at the University of Baghdad/College of Medicine, with the attendance of the Dean and many members of the ministerial committees for developing the College of Pharmacy curricula. The workshop addressed the objectives of curriculum development and the basis for its updating. The workshop discussed many topics, including the need to reform and update the curriculum to meet the development of the pharmacy profession, ways to change the curriculum, action steps needed, and the importance of feedback in following up on the effectiveness of the implemented changes. The workshop is part of the ongoing efforts of the College of Pharmacy and its pioneering role in improving the status of pharmaceutical education in order to achieve the college’s vision and mission of raising the competency of graduates.
