Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb, the Scientific Affairs Unit at the University of Baghdad/College of Pharmacy, held an in-person scientific seminar on the effectiveness of daridorexant for the treatment of insomnia in adults as a dual orexin receptor antagonist in the central nervous system, delivered by the pharmacist Shlova Najim, the MSc student at the Clinical Pharmacy Department. The seminar aimed to shed light on the treatment of insomnia cases with daridorexant, raise awareness of its uses under the supervision of the doctor or pharmacist, and provide guidance on its side effects, if any. The scientific seminar included various topics such as identifying daridorexant and the receptor found in the nervous system on which it works, clarifying the effectiveness and safety of the medication, and how to use it for patients suffering from insomnia.
