According to the directives of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as the presidency of the University of Baghdad, to expand green spaces within and outside the university to preserve the environment, the College of Pharmacy/University of Baghdad organized a voluntary campaign to plant the college gardens under the direct sponsorship and supervision of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb, with the participation of the Dean Assistants and a group of faculty members and students of our college, in coordination with the Supporting Committee for Volunteer Work and the Agricultural Unit in the college. This campaign is part of the sustainable development agenda to increase green spaces and environmental care at the University of Baghdad, coinciding with National Afforestation Day on March 12th. The campaign included planting many flowers and evergreen shrubs, including Acacia, Indian Grass, Crepe Myrtle, Roses, Jasmine, and others. The campaign lasted from March 10th to March 12th, 2024. The aim of the voluntary campaign was to enhance the aesthetic and environmental aspects of the college, promote a culture of planting, and support the major reconstruction campaign underway at the college under the direct supervision and sponsorship of our ministry and university.
