Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb, the Scientific Affairs Unit at the University of Baghdad/College of Pharmacy, held an in-person scientific seminar entitled “The Commission of Integrity and its Role in Combating Corruption Crimes,” delivered by Lecturer Dr. Jinan Abdul Razzaq Fatah and Legal Consultant Mortadha Abdul Hussein Hasan. The workshop aimed to demonstrate the importance of the role of the Commission of Integrity in combating corruption crimes, the nature of the investigative procedures carried out by the authority once a corruption offense has been reported, and what is the legal basis for the commission to proceed with its work and know all about the authority’s work in combating corruption crimes. The workshop included several topics, such as the introduction to the Commission of Integrity, the legal basis and legal nature of this commission, and the investigative procedures of the Commission of Integrity. The workshop concluded that the Commission of Integrity has a prominent and important role to play in combating corruption offenses as an administrative commission that detects such offenses and refers them to the competent judicial authorities for sentencing in these cases.
