Dr. Haidar Fouad Al-Sayegh, the President of the Iraqi Pharmacists Syndicate, welcomed the graduates of the first cohort of PharmD pharmacists for the academic year (2023-2024). The ceremony was attended by Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, Dean of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Baghdad, Dr. Haidar Al-Muazzin, the First Deputy President of the Syndicate, Dr. Nebras Al-Mousawi, a member of the Syndicate Council, Dr. Ahmed Al-Maliki, a Member of Parliament, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Aziz, the Syndicate’s Clinical Pharmacy Advisor.The graduating pharmacists listened to the President’s speech, in which he praised the efforts of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy and everyone who contributed to establishing the PharmD specialty in Iraq, including Dr. Hassan Al-Tamimi, General Director of the Medical City Authority, and many other pharmacists in their respective roles and specialties. Since Dr. Haidar Fouad Al-Sayegh assumed his position as the President of the Iraqi Pharmacists Syndicate, he has given special priority to pharmaceutical specialties, including clinical pharmacy. The graduation of this first cohort of PharmD pharmacists is a significant step and a clear indicator of the pharmacy profession in Iraq keeping pace with regional and global professional developments.
