The Faculty of Pharmacy discussed the master’s thesis tagged “Serum level of Angiopioetin-2, Leucine rich alpha-2 Glycoprotien-1, and Elabela in relation with renal function in Iraqi COVID-19 patients” By Maha Hassan Gadhi and her Supervisor, Prof. Dr. Eman Saadi Saleh in Clinical Laboratory Sciences Department. The thesis aims to measure serum levels of Angiopioetin-2, Leucine-rich alpha-2 Glycoprotien-1, and Elabela for severe COVID-19 patients, comparing them with apparent healthy subjects and assessing the relationship of these parameters with renal function parameters (serum creatinine and estimated glomerular filtration rate), in addition to other parameters routinely analyzed. Thesis topics include serum levels of Angiopioetin-2, Leucine rich alpha-2 glycoprotien-1, and Elabela for severe COVID-19 patients that are lower than apparent healthy subjects with a significant difference, and renal function parameters for both groups with normal levels. The study didn’t find any correlation between serum levels of Angiopioetin-2, Leucine-rich alpha-2 glycoprotien-1, and Elabela with renal function that was measured in severe COVID-19 patients.
