The Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H.Kathem Alkhateeb, attended the closing ceremony of the first training course within the industrial pharmacists capacity building initiative. This initiative was launched by the Syndicate of Iraqi Pharmacists in collaboration with our college and other academic institutions on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the headquarters of Syndicate of Iraqi Pharmacists. This initiative is part of the syndicate’s program to localize the pharmaceutical industry and empower Iraqi pharmacists to play their role in the Iraqi pharmaceutical industry so that it can regain its regional, Arab, and global standing. In his speech on this occasion, the Dean emphasized that cooperation between institutions is crucial for establishing a series of such courses at advanced levels to graduate pharmacists capable of performing their role in reviving this important industry. He assured that our college will continue to support this project and all projects aimed at creating job opportunities and developing the skills of graduates.The closing ceremony, which celebrated the pharmacists who completed the course, was attended by Dr. Hamoudi Al-Lami, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Pharmaceutical Industry Localization Affairs; Dr. Ahmad Al-Ahmed, Vice President of the Iraqi Association of Pharmaceutical Producers; Dr. Khaled Kathem Al-Kinani, Advisor to the Syndicate President; the syndicate and academic team supervising the course; and the esteemed faculty members from the colleges of pharmacy.
