Under the supervision of the esteemed Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Continuous Education Unit at the College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad, organized an in-person workshop titled “Linguistic Mistakes in Official Correspondence.” The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturer Sally Rabea Nada from Human Resources. The workshop aimed to highlight common linguistic errors in correspondence and to attempt to avoid them when drafting official documents, ensuring the integrity of administrative communications to and from Iraqi universities.The workshop consisted of three main sections. The first section focused on selecting the correct words in writing among other words and phrases that should be considered when writing. The second section addressed incorrect words in writing among other erroneous terms. The third section discussed the reasons for writing words, phrases, and sentences in a particular way. The workshop concluded with the necessity of paying attention to the linguistic aspect when drafting documents, given its importance in presenting those documents in the desired manner that ensures the accurate conveyance of official information.
