Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Al-Khateeb, the Human Rights Unit at the University of Baghdad College of Pharmacy organized an awareness activity titled “Towards an Inclusive University that Empowers Everyone”. The event was held in the courtyard of the College of Pharmacy and involved the participation of a group of second-stage students, under the supervision of the Unit Head, Asst. Lecturer Noor Talib Akbar.

The activity aimed to raise students’ awareness of the importance of supporting their peers with disabilities and to promote a culture of inclusion and equality within the university by raising awareness of the rights of this group and fostering a fair academic environment that provides equal opportunities for all students to learn and participate without barriers.

The activity included the presentation of an awareness poster and discussions on several topics related to understanding the needs of people with disabilities and ways to support them on campus. It also opened a dialogue among students on the importance of respecting diversity and appreciating differences. In addition, the activity highlighted the role of educational institutions in empowering people with disabilities and providing an academic environment that ensures their full participation without obstacles.
