The Psychological Guidance and Educational Counseling Unit at the College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad, provides educational services to students in collaboration and coordination with the dean of the college, the Ibn Sina Unit for e-learning, and the Student Volunteer Work Committee and the faculty members in the college’s scientific departments. This initiative is based on the belief in the necessity of creating an academic environment that prioritizes psychological and educational well-being.
Responsibilities of the Educational Guidance Unit:
– Welcoming new students and introducing them to university norms to prepare them for their new academic life.
– Instilling ethical and social principles in the students, emphasizing the importance of adhering to university norms and campus ethics.
– Offering advice, assistance, and various psychological and social counseling services to help students address educational and social issues while ensuring complete confidentiality.
– Organizing workshops, seminars, lectures, and awareness posters to promote psychological, social, and health guidance, aiming to achieve a good level of awareness.
– Supporting, encouraging, and following up on the needs of students with disabilities.
– Educating and assisting students in coping with stress to protect them from psychological and behavioral disorders, helping them avoid such issue and prevent its occurrence.
– Maintaining ongoing communication with students through regular meetings with students and their representatives from different academic stages, as well as providing an electronic communication channel (email: [email protected]) to ensure continuous engagement and serve as a platform for students to express their concerns and issues for possible assistance.
