Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, a voluntary blood donation campaign was held at the College of Pharmacy- University of Baghdad in cooperation with the National Blood Transfusion Center- Technical Affairs Department at the Ministry of Health with the participation of a number of faculty members and students from our college. The campaign done in cooperation between the Clinical Laboratory Sciences Department and the Student Activities Unit. The campaign aimed to contribute in providing part of the increasing needs for blood types for humanitarian and critical cases as well as the wounded victims of the Zionist aggression on the Lebanese brothers lying in Iraqi hospitals, in addition to spreading the culture of blood donation among members of society. The campaign included holding an introductory lecture on the health benefits of blood donation and the conditions that must be met by the donor, delivered by the accredited educator, Mrs. Aseel Anwar Nouri, Head of the Training Unit at the National Center for Blood Transfusion, and the lecturer Dr. Zahraa Mohammed Ali, faculty member in Clinical Laboratory Sciences Department.
