Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Scientific Affairs Unit at the University of Baghdad/College of Pharmacy, held an in-person scientific seminar entitled “Mesoporous Material: Synthesis, Structure, and Properties”, delivered by Lecturer Nedaa A. Hameed A. Rahim, a faculty member at the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department. The seminar aimed to present scientific aspects related to the practical part of the postgraduate students’ research in the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department, exchange ideas, and access scientific productions. The seminar included several topics, including porous materials and their types, as well as an explanation of the method of manufacturing mesoporous materials and their uses in various fields. The seminar concluded that mesoporous materials have broad important applications in many fields like catalysts or catalyst supports, especially in petrochemical and fine chemical industries, drug delivery, and energy storage (solar cells).
