Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Assistant Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Division of Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation in the College of Pharmacy / University of Baghdad, organized a training course entitled (Assessment methods in medical education) presented by Prof. Dr. Sabieh Abbas Al-Mashhadani, Director of the National Center for Competency Assessment Medical – Health and University Education Authority – Imam Hussain Holy Shrine . The training course covered the concepts and principles of evaluation in medical education, its various and modern methods, and the design of the examination map according to the objectives of the curriculum. The training also discussed the OSCEs and OSPEs. The training course was conducted over three days, and included a visit to the National Center for Medical Competence Assessment in the holy city of Karbala by members of the faculty of the College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad, visited. The training course aims to further the faculty members capabilities in presenting exams and evaluating students in order to ensure the achievement of the college’s goals and its role in ensuring the competency of pharmacy graduates.
