The College Council
Is the college’s highest administrative and academic body. It is responsible for determining general policies and developing academic, administrative, and financial plans. It also reviews academic research, admission and registration procedures, and determines the college’s human resource and infrastructure needs. The Council also oversees performance monitoring and quality assurance to ensure the successful achievement of the college’s goals.
The College Council consists of permanent members:
The Dean of the College (Chairman of the Council), the Dean’s Assistant for Academic and Student Affairs, the Dean’s Assistant for Administrative Affairs, the heads of academic departments, and a representative of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate
Session date on September 10, 2025
The College Council held its first session for the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year at the College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad. The session was chaired by Professor Dr. Sarmed Hashim Kadhim, and attended by the Council members. At the beginning of the session, the Council Chairman welcomed the members and wished them success in their work.
The following decisions were made:
- Recommendation to approve the discussion minutes of a group of graduate students.
- Recommendation to approve the postgraduate admission plan for the 2026-2027 academic year.
- Approval to form discussion committees for a group of graduate students.
- Approval to adopt a dedicated electronic platform for monitoring and evaluating summer training for undergraduate students.

The College Council held its second session for the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year at the College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad. The session was chaired by Professor Dr. Sarmed Hashim Kadhim, and attended by the Council members. At the beginning of the session, the Council Chairman welcomed the members and wished them success in their work.

- Recommendation to approve joint supervision of a group of graduate students.

- Approval to form comprehensive examination committees for a group of graduate students.

- Approval to approve the results of the second round of graduate students for the 2024-2025 academic year.
- Approval to approve the results of the second round of undergraduate students for the 2024-2025 academic year.

- Recommendation to approve full-time teaching at private colleges for one day only.
- Recommendation to approve the nomination of a faculty member within the scholarship program (the Higher Committee for the Development of Education in Iraq).
- Approval to form discussion committees for a group of graduate students.
- Approval of the formation of comprehensive examination committees for a group of graduate students.
- Approval of the approval of research projects for a group of graduate students.
- Approval of the initial postponement request for a fifth-year student.
- Approval of the annual performance evaluation report submitted by the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division.

- Recommendation to approve the twinning agreement with the College of Pharmacy, Al-Turath University.
- Recommendation to approve the nomination for the scholarship program (Higher Committee for the Development of Education in Iraq).
- Approval to form dissertation committees for a group of postgraduate students.
- Approval to change the dissertation committee for a postgraduate student.
- Approval of the formation of comprehensive examination committees for a group of graduate students.
- Approval of research projects submitted by a group of graduate students.
- Approval of the first deferral requests submitted by a group of graduate students under the Study in Iraq initiative.
- Approval of the recommendations of the Tuition Fee Reduction Committee.

The College Council held its Eighth Open Session for the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year at the College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad. The session was chaired by Professor Dr. Sarmad Hashim Kadhim and attended by the council members. - Recommending approval of a report on discount reduction for parallel (evening) program students.
- Ratifying the undergraduate results of first-year students for the first semester / first attempt.
- Ratifying the comprehensive examination results for a number of postgraduate students.
- Approving the formation of thesis defense committees for a number of postgraduate students.
- Approving a request for withdrawal from the PhD program by a student in the “Study in Iraq” program.

- Ratification of the comprehensive exam results for one of the graduate students.
- Approval of forming discussion committees for a group of graduate students.
- Approval to grant a no-objection certificate for one of our college’s faculty members to teach a graduate course at the College of Artificial Intelligence / University of Baghdad.

The College Council held its thirteen meeting for the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year at the College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad. - • Confirming that a fifth-year student failed due to cheating, in accordance with examination regulations.

- Ratification of the merging of sequences for graduates of the academic year 1975-1976.
