Under the supervision of the Dean of the college, Assistant Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum AlKhateeb, and in cooperation with the Supporting Committee for Volunteer Work, a group of faculty members supervised a voluntary awareness campaign on the risk of obesity and its relationship to pressure and diabetes diseases. It involved a group of fourth stage and 3rd-Year PharmD students. The event was conducted in the Bab Al-Moadham University campus on Thursday, 22-12-202. as the campaign included several axes, most notably measuring blood pressure, blood sugar, height, and ideal weight (body mass index), awareness about healthy practices and nutrition to be followed to maintain a healthy weight. In addition, the students distributed awareness leaflets about the dangers of excess weight and its relationship to hypertension and diabetes. The activity targeted the students and faculties from non-health science colleges inside the campus. The campaign was important in raising the health awareness and introducing what are the factors causing hypertension and diabetes and how to prevent them. This campaign comes within the voluntary work in providing medical advice and scanning free-of charge.
