Introduction to the Information Technology Unit
The Information Technology Unit was established at the College of Pharmacy under Administrative Order No. (1596), dated 9/8/2020, and is directly affiliated with the Dean’s Office. The unit’s tasks are categorized into several groups that work together to meet the college’s needs in informatics and digital technologies. These include:
1.Website Management:
The website aims to optimally represent the college on the internet through its Arabic and English versions, along with a dedicated conference website. It provides electronic services and systems that help achieve the desired goals for students and faculty members. The unit also seeks to make the college an integrated digital institution within the University of Baghdad, which aims to facilitate visitors easy access to any information related to the college through its websites, as it provides the information that students need by publishing all advertisements, instructions, student activities, and exam schedules for students. This facilitates smooth information transfer while maintaining accuracy.
2.College Email Management :
1.The unit contributes to creating university email accounts for all faculty members, staff, and administrative units in coordination with the website division at the University of Baghdad.
2.The unit also facilitates the creation of institutional email accounts for undergraduate and postgraduate students, which accompany them throughout their academic journey. Additionally, the unit provides technical support to students, resolves issues related to their university accounts, and any educational sites or electronic applications that students need during their studies.
3.Supervision of IT Systems, Networks, and Computer Maintenance:
This task focuses on the technical aspects of IT to support various departments within the college, including:
- Providing internet services by obtaining equipment offers from local companies and managing and maintaining the college’s internal network.
- Establishing the necessary digital infrastructure for the college’s systems and offering technical support and guidance during their operation.
