Under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum AlKhateeb, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy-University of Baghdad The continuing education unit, in collaboration with the Ibn Sina unit at the college, established a workshop under the title (Writing Effective MCQ) that was given by Assistant Professor Dr. Munaf Hashim Abdulrazzaq, a faculty member in the Pharmacology and Toxicology Department. During this workshop, a variety of conditions that must be met to write MCQ questions correctly and effectively were presented. Multiple-choice questions require the student to select the correct answer from a group of possible options that are presented to them. It is necessary that this type of question test the student’s knowledge in an effective manner and focus on important scientific ideas and information that must be known by the student. In addition, many important tools were presented in this workshop for examining the quality of questions, their difficulty, and how to identify structural problems in multiple-choice questions. Also, a group of used MCQ were presented, and indicators of strength and weakness were examined after conducting an analysis of the results of the answers, and an indication of the possible reasons that lead to failure to determine the correct answers and possible ways to address these problems.
