Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Assistant Professor Dr. Sarmad Hashem Al-Khatib, the Scientific Affairs Unit at the College of Pharmacy / University of Baghdad held a scientific seminar delivered by Ph.D. student Rafah Khamis /Pharmaceutics Department, on the study of Lipid-Based Ophthalmic Drug Delivery System The workshop aims to summarize the methods used to overcome the shortage of conventional ophthalmic dose forms, where many studies have been done to produce a number of novel delivery mechanisms, some of which have been incorporated into commercial products. The lecture included various axes, such as an introduction to the development of ophthalmic formulations able to deliver hydrophilic and hydrophobic drugs to the inner structures of the eye, the physiology of the eye, ocular infections, reasons for poor bioavailability, and ocular dosage form depend on lipid-based and its methods preparation.
