The Faculty of Pharmacy held its 2nd Scientific Conference for Student Studies Research under the slogan: ((Updates in Pharmaceutical Sciences))Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, honorable Dr. Naim Yasser Al-Aboudi, and with the support of the President of Baghdad University, Professor Muneer Hameed Al-Saadi, and under the direct guidance of Mr. Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb. This was March 18 and 19, and the conference began with an editorial that included welcoming attendees, a pause for the national anthem, and then a reading of some verses of the Holy Quran. The session was followed by a symbolic introduction to the official of the Media and Public Relations Unit for the role of the pharmacy faculty members and with the support of scientific research. And then Mr. Dean’s opening speech about the importance of these conferences because scientific research is the fundamental pillar of the progress of society at various levels. The need to establish a link between them and their beneficiaries, such as the Ministry of Health and the pharmaceutical factories, companies, and others, and unleash modern ideas that will be of benefit to society. Then, presenting postgraduate students’ research started, where 106 scientific research studies were accepted for affiliated researchers from 18 different entities between government and private universities or the Ministry of Health. The research included 29 presentation papers and 77 posters exhibited at an exhibition in the Dean’s courtyard. Based on information and discussions during the scientific sessions, the conference came up with recommendations made by Mr. Dean in the final statement of the conference. Among them is the need for postgraduate research to be applicable and in the service of higher society, and the need to activate cooperation between academic institutions and beneficiaries such as the Ministry of Health and pharmaceutical factories. Possibility of establishing an institution concerned with the marketing of scientific research, and holding joint scientific forums between the University as a research institution and beneficiaries of scientific research outputs such as the departments of the Ministry of Health and pharmaceutical factories, and honoring researchers seeking to find practical solutions to realistic problems from  through their research. He concluded the conference with the hope of setting up its third edition with a new vision and perspective after its recommendations become a tangible reality, God forbid.
