Under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. AlKhateeb, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy-University of Baghdad…. The continuing education unit established a workshop under the title (Chemical Elements in Human Body) that was given by lecturer Nedaa Abd al Hameed Abd al Rahim and Assistant lecturer Anwar Adnan Tamer, a faculty member in the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department. The workshop discussed the human body mass, which consists of approximately 99% of six elements: oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, and phosphorus. And only about 0.85% of five other elements: potassium, sulfur, sodium, chlorine and magnesium. All of these 11 elements are essential to life. Understanding the exact way to do them is crucial to ensure experiments give the most accurate results and prevent accidents that may be dangerous to the researcher. This workshop focused on, analyzing the composition of the human body by molecular types such as water, protein, connective tissue, fats (or lipids), hydroxyl apatite (in bones), carbohydrates (such as glycogen and glucose), and DNA.
