Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb, the Scientific Affairs Unit in the College of Pharmacy/University of Baghdad, held an in-person seminar given by the MSc Student in the Clinical Pharmacy Department, pharmacist Mohammed Jameel Falah, about the impact of implementing a pharmacist-led deprescribing program on medication adherence among hemodialysis patients, which is a part of the MSc Study thesis to obtain his MSc degree under the supervision of Lecturer Dr. Ali L. Jassem. The seminar, provided the prominent pharmacists’ role in detecting inappropriate medications and how their participation in the deprescribing process can improve patient outcomes. The study findings revealed that the pharmacist-led deprescribing program significantly improved patient medication adherence and reduced the number of daily medications and pills without affecting patient safety.
