Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb, the Scientific Affairs Unit in the College of Pharmacy/University of Baghdad held an in-person seminar on the safety of microwave oven use, delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Faris Hassan, a faculty member in the Pharmacology and Toxicology Department. The seminar is directed to summarize the safety and real side effects associated with the use of microwave ovens and to dispel the rumors that have often accompanied their use, including those that affect human health and those that impact the quality and nutritional value of cooked food. The lecture included several points, including a historical overview of the discovery of microwave ovens and their impact on human health and food quality. It also addressed a range of myths surrounding their usage.
