Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, in cooperation with the Ibn Sina E-learing Unit at the College of Pharmacy/University of Baghdad, held an electronic guided workshop entitled “Leisure time investment” presented by Lecturer Dr. Zainab Thabit Saleh, a faculty member in the Department of Pharmaceutics. The workshop aimed to introduce the youth to the areas of leisure time investment and its negative and positive repercussions. The lecture addressed several themes, the most important of which was the introduction of leisure time and the correct ways to exploit it for all age groups of human beings, from childhood through youth to the elderly. Additionally, how to encourage young people to invest their free time in volunteer work and reading because of their major role in influencing the individual’s personality and making him more sophisticated, as well as participating in cultural meetings and seminars that are important in changing negative thoughts, A field study conducted by Iraqi researchers aimed at addressing the factors affecting the diversity of leisure time among rural and urban populations and both males and females was discussed.The lecture witnessed an obvious interaction from the students on the topic of the workshop, as some of the students present expressed their opinions about investing their free time within the college away from study by practicing multiple hobbies and participating in extracurricular events and activities organized by the college or university during the academic year, which were made available by the college and with the efforts of the esteemed dean of the college to seize the time by the students in work that promises them success, progress, and the morale of young people.
