Under the patronage of the Rector of the University of Baghdad and with the direct support of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit at the College of Pharmacy organized a scientific trip to Samarra Pharmaceutical Company for the fifth-stage students, in addition to a group of postgraduate students and faculty members in the Department of Pharmaceutics, on Thursday, December 21, 2023. The visit commenced with a meeting with the general manager of Samarra Pharmaceutical Company, who warmly welcomed the faculty members and the students, followed by a visit to the factory’s important sections, such as quality control laboratories, production lines of tablets and ointments, and the new antibiotic production building. This was accompanied by a detailed explanation of the manufacturing processes and laboratory methods used in the analysis of the produced medications, in accordance with international pharmaceutical standards. The tour also included scientific interventions and questions by students, blending the theoretical knowledge they gained with the practical experiences they witnessed during their visit to the factory. After the tour was successfully completed, students and faculty members visited the Malwiya Minaret in a pleasant environment filled with warmth and joy. This initiative, along with others, is part of the college faculty members’ efforts to build bridges that bring them closer to the students in a positive atmosphere that instills pride in their college and its faculty. At the end of this scientific experience, the students expressed their gratitude to all those who contributed to its success, hoping for its repetition in the future.
