Physiology Laboratory

Vision: The Physiology Laboratory aims to equip pharmacy students with the fundamentals of medical physics and physiology. This prepares them for specialized studies in these disciplines and ensures their competence in keeping pace with global developments in universities.

Objectives of the Laboratory: Providing Fundamental Knowledge: The laboratory aims to provide students with experiences, knowledge, and information specialized in physiology. This includes a complete understanding of physiological aspects and functions of various body organs, laying the groundwork for understanding changes that occur in those functions during illness (for second-year students), Physics of the Human Body: The laboratory covers the physical aspects of the human body, including various physiological systems. It also includes the physical foundations of different medical devices and equipment., Preparation for Future Work: The laboratory offers explanatory videos to help students understand the experiments, preparing them for future work in the health sector and community service.

Pharmacology and Toxicology Laboratory

Vision: 1.Understanding Drug Effects: The laboratory aims to make pharmacy students knowledgeable in pharmaceuticals, focusing on examining and recording the pharmacological effects and drug interactions of various types of medications. 2.Preparation for Pharmacological Study: The goal is to prepare competent pharmacists familiar with pharmacology, enabling them to study the pharmacological effects of drugs.

Toxicology Laboratory Vision:

1.Toxic Effects Study: The laboratory aims to make pharmacy students knowledgeable in toxicology, focusing on examining and recording the toxic effects of drugs and non-pharmaceutical substances periodically encountered by humans. 2.   Preparation for Toxicological Study: The goal is to prepare competent pharmacists familiar with toxicology, enabling them to study the toxic effects of various pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical compounds.

Objectives of the Laboratories:  Pharmacology Laboratory:The laboratory supports the study of pharmacology, helping students understand the effects and multiple uses of drugs. It covers the entire spectrum of drug action, from cellular receptors to the dynamics of drug action, drug interactions, and drug kinetics.

Toxicology Laboratory: The laboratory focuses on the practical study of toxicology and its clinical applications. It also studies the adverse effects of drugs and chemicals. The laboratory is concerned with practical methods for prevention and treatment of poisoning cases.

Postgraduate Studies Laboratory / Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology

Objectives of the Laboratory: The laboratory directly contributes to developing personal and scientific skills for postgraduate students. It prepares them to conduct diverse experiments, measure multiple variables, and interact extensively and directly with laboratory animals. This contributes to the development of their scientific skills.

Laboratory Tasks: 1.Providing a Comprehensive Scientific Environment: The laboratory aims to provide a comprehensive scientific environment for postgraduate students and faculty members in the Medicines and Poisons Department to carry out their scientific experiments for their master’s and doctoral degrees and personal research. 2.Qualifying Pharmacists: The laboratory aims to qualify pharmacists holding advanced degrees who can perform various experiments, measure multiple variables, and handle laboratory animals, contributing to the development of their scientific skills.
