Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb, the Continuing Education Unit at the University of Baghdad/College of Pharmacy, held an in-person workshop entitled “The Effect of E-Cigarettes,” delivered by Lecturer Nedaa Abd-Al Hameed and Assistant Lecturer Sumayah Saadi Abbas, faculty members at the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department.The workshop aimed to clarify the types of electronic cigarettes as well as an explanation of the nature of the materials that are placed inside electronic cigarettes and their impact on human health, the impact of electronic cigarettes within society, especially young people, and the necessity of reducing their use. The workshop included highlighting the chemicals found in electronic cigarettes, the flavorings they use, and their dangerous effects on human health, in addition to clarifying the difference between regular and electronic cigarettes and the importance of emphasizing increasing awareness and reducing the use of electronic cigarettes.
